What is Juvederm Volbella?
Juvederm Volbella with Lidocaine is a new dermal filler treatment for the lips and Peri-oral area. Designed not only for gentle restoration of natural looking lip volume, it can also be used for defining lip contours, treating oral commissures, smoothing fine 'barcode' lines around the lips and supporting the 'marionette' lines down the chin.
Main Benefits:
• Much less swelling.
• As pain free as possible (Thank you Lidocaine!).
• Effects last for 12 months unlike other lip fillers which last for 6 months.
How does Juvederm Volbella work?
Developed using Allergan's proprietary Vycross™ technology, Juvederm Volbella with Lidocaine is formulated with an innovative combination of low and high molecular weight technology, which improves the cross-linking efficiency of HA chains. This more effective cross-linking allows for a lower concentration of HA to be used, which results in less swelling. The Vycross™ technology delivers an ultra-smooth gel which results in a natural look and feel, as well as improved duration.
This unique technology allows it to be less hydrophilic than other fillers – allowing it to absorb less water, resulting in considerably reduced swelling compared to more traditional fillers such as Restylane. Not only is there less downtime afterwards, the treatment itself is made as pain free as possible by the built in painkilling Lidocaine anaesthetic! Another massive advance made by this product is the length of time you can expect the effects of this treatment to last – a whole 12 months!
What are the typical areas that are treated?
Juvederm ® Volbella™ treats lost lip volume, defines lip contours, treats oral commissures (the corners of the mouth that turn down and make you look like you're sad), smooth's smoker's lines, and plumps up marionette lines (the ones that go from the corners of your mouth down to your chin). Volbella can also be used to improve crow's feet and other superficial facial wrinkles.
When should one start using Juvederm Volbella?
Wrinkle and volume loss treatment should start as soon as one sees a wrinkle developing when the wrinkles are still "soft". If these wrinkles are neglected they become "ingrained" and "scar like" they are impossible to treat successfully. If we intervene early and fill in wrinkles with Volbella filler, then we can prevent the breaks in the skin, commonly known as wrinkles. In addition, if the wrinkles are filled up with fillers, this exerts pressure on the fibroblasts in the area and collagen is stimulated which then gets incorporated into the wrinkle area and causes prolonged filling effects and wrinkle improvement.
Can Juvederm Volbella be combined with other treatments?
As smoker's lines are difficult to treat, especially if they have been neglected, Volbella can be combined with Pearl Fractional, laser Genesis, Dermaroller and injected mesotherapy treatments. The treatments stimulate collagen and improve the final rejuvenation of the mouth area.
What to expect after using Juvederm Volbella
There is virtually no swelling or bruising, so normal daily activities can be resumed immediately after the treatment. At Sinclair Aesthetics the option of a complimentary PDT / LED after the procedure is available. This is a healing, anti ageing light which further reduces bruising and swelling and prolongs the effect of the filler. You will also be provided with an ice pack to take home which lessens the redness and swelling.
You may put makeup on the treated area immediately and resume whatever activities you have planned, as long as you recognize that you will be a little red and swollen for up to 2 days.
At Sinclair Aesthetics you are asked to have a follow up consult at two weeks when everything is settled to evaluate your results and ensure that you are satisfied with the outcome and have had no problems. Try to avoid aspirin, myprodol, omega 3 or products containing a high-dosage vitamin E supplements for 10 days before the filler procedure (unless medically necessary) to avoid bruising. After the filler procedure, it's recommended to avoid saunas and steam baths for 2 weeks.
Is Juvederm Volbella safe?
