What is Urinary Stress Incontinence?
Urinary incontinence is the unintentional loss of urine, when you are not expecting or wanting to pass urine.
Stress incontinence (passing small amounts of Urine) happens when physical movement or activity, for example when coughing, sneezing, running or heavy lifting, puts pressure on your bladder. Stress incontinence is not usually related to psychological stress, but rather physical.
Stress incontinence is much more common in women than men, often due to Pregnancies and hormonal changes.
If you have stress incontinence, you may feel embarrassed, isolate yourself, or limit your work and social life, especially exercise and leisure activities. With treatment, you'll likely be able to manage stress incontinence and improve your overall well-being.
What is Vaginal Rejuvenation?
New technology allows us to offer you a revolutionary technique for vaginal rejuvenation also called vaginal tightening. At Sinclair Aesthetics, we use the Gynelase™ laser to stimulate collagen growth. It will tighten the vaginal wall, thereby restoring a more youthful feel, and often can improve confidence and sensation during intercourse.
It also helps reduce urinary incontinence. In addition, feedback has shown that vaginal rejuvenation, using Gynelase™ also helps for dryness - especially as we age and during menopause and recurrent vaginal infections.
So, if you recognise any of these symptoms and prefer non-surgical treatments, you are an ideal candidate for a safe and effective Gynelase™ vaginal rejuvenation treatment:

Frequently Asked questions - Gynelase
What is vaginal rejuvenation?
It is a procedure that aims to “tighten up” a vagina that became loose of slack due to childbirth or aging. This is a quick in-office procedure, over in a few minutes. It is not painful and has no downtime and delivers proven results. Only 2-4 treatments taking a few minutes each are needed for optimal outcomes of enhanced vaginal muscle tone, strength and control. It is safe and hassle-free and no special post procedure care is required
When will I see results?
Typically, 2-4 treatments are needed to see optimal results and achieve the desired outcome on the vaginal layer. Most patients already experience improvement in both sensation and urinary incontinence after 1 treatment.
What can I expect after treatment?
Immediately after treatment you may feel a very mild heat sensation in which case we can prescribe a hydrating gel. This sensation should not last longer than a few hours. You should not feel uncomfortable. Our patients notice results immediately and then more after a short period of time, often a few days. Over time you’ll experience:
- Enhanced muscle tone, strength and elasticity of your vaginal tissues.
- Stronger sensation during intercourse.
- Better control over urinary incontinence.
Following your GYNELASE procedure it is recommended that you do not have sexual intercourse, exercise, or use tampons for a few days to allow the vaginal wall to settle for 7 days.
There is no other restriction and no pain.
What happens during a Treatment?
Before treatment the doctor will assess your vaginal health. During the treatment, a sterilized applicator is moved along the vaginal wall in an outward motion, applying the laser in a 360º pattern covering the entire area. The laser will shrink the tissue by using heat which stimulates collagen production and fibroblasts that are part of the connective tissue. This is a no down time, painless and bloodless procedure which takes a few minutes. It is done in a series of 1-4 treatments, spaced 6-8 weeks apart.
